Use Case: Influencer Marketing

use-case-influencersWhether you are doing social marketing or content marketing or word of mouth marketing, or whatever else you want to call your online marketing, sooner or later you are going to want to reach out to influential people – so called influencer marketing. These are typically people with large followings on the social networks, and a few good words from them can propel your business to the next level. But how do you get an influencer to notice you or your business that nobody knows about yet? How do you get them to share your great content?

In this use case, you will learn how to:

  • Find influencers in your niche.
  • Get noticed by influencers.
  • Benefit directly from their popularity.

Level: Easy

  1. Define your niche
In order to find influencers for your market you must first define your niche. To do so, simply add keywords to your Project. Once added, the system will begin searching for relevant influencers.
  2. Follow & Bookmark
When Influencers are discovered by the system, you need to connect with their social networks. The first step towards that is to follow them and if you’re lucky, they will follow you back! You can also bookmark them in Womplify to ensure you don’t lose track of them.
  3. Subscribe to their feeds
To easily find Influencer content, you must subscribe to their RSS feeds. Usually feeds can be found at locations such as (or /rss) so visit the influencers web site and look for their feed. If you are not sure what an RSS feed looks like, have a look at ours here. Womplify will regularly check their feeds for new posts and any that are found will appear under Research > Content Curation.
  4. Engage
Now it’s time to get on their radar! Go to your Content Curation page and enter the name or domain of an influencer, in the search box – all their posts, currently in our database, will be displayed in date order. Now you can easily engage with these influencers, via their content, like so:1. You can curate & create new posts from their articles, and schedule them for publishing on all supported social platforms.

When creating such posts, make sure to reference them (and/or the author if different) so that they notice. For example, for a Twitter post you could include something like this in the Tweet: “by @theirname”. You can also configure the post to be reposted multiple times at intervals of your choosing, just to make sure they notice!

    2. You can go to their blogs directly from the links in the Content Curation page and post useful and relevant comments on their articles. You can also mention in your comment that you liked the article so much that you shared it with your social network followers.

Needless to say, before commenting on their blogs or sharing their links, you should actually read the articles to make sure your comment is appropriate and that your social followers would be interested in seeing such content.

  5. Rinse & Repeat
Keep checking your Social > Influencers page and follow/bookmark/subscribe/curate any new ones that show up. You can also tweak your keywords to enable the system to discover more influencers.

It takes time to build up a relationship with an influencer, so don’t give up too soon. Be generous with your sharing and commenting – the more you give, the more you will get in return.
